God is Doing Immeasurably More!
For 183 years, Canton First Methodist Church has faithfully responded to God’s call with courage, vision, and sacrificial obedience. Since 1842, generation upon generation upon generation has built, expanded, and reimagined ministry spaces as our church has stepped forward each time God moved. We’ve launched discipleship programs, birthed community ministries, sent missionaries, and made bold decisions to reach new people—from relocating our campus to redesigning our spaces for children, youth, and discipleship. Every step of the way, we’ve trusted that when God calls, He also provides. Today, we stand on the shoulders of those faithful leaders, ready to follow God once again into a future filled with promise and purpose.
God is writing a new chapter in our story—one that builds on generations of faithfulness and launches us into a future filled with hope and purpose. For more than 180 years, God has used Canton First Methodist Church to glorify His name, amplify the message of Jesus, and multiply disciples both locally and globally. Now, we are seeing Him do immeasurably more than we could have imagined. New families are joining our community, lives are being changed, and ministries are growing in both depth and reach. This isn’t just about buildings—it’s about creating space for the next generation to experience the life-changing love of Jesus. God is calling us to step forward in faith, to invest in a vision bigger than ourselves, and to be part of something only He can accomplish. Together, let’s prepare the way for even more stories of transformation, worship, and discipleship—for Canton, for Georgia, and for the world.
"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen." Ephesians 3:20-21

Prayer
Pray and seek God and His will, fulfilling that which He has challenged us to do, faithfully and sacrificially. The building expansion project is a significant undertaking, and we recognize the necessity of seeking God's guidance every step of the way. We believe God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work with us (Ephesians 3:20).

FAQ
The building project can be divided into two phases:
Phase 1: Construction of a new wing, the “Wesley Wing,” extending past the current Fellowship Hall with an updated and reconfigured kitchen space. The new building is approximately 10,000 square feet and includes a large multi-purpose and student space for 6th – 12th grade ministries, as well as additional classrooms on the lower level. Primary use of the new wing is for children and students; however, the building can be used for many other purposes to include Bible studies, small conferences, meals, receptions, overflow for special services, missions, etc. Phase 1 includes the renovation and expansion of existing adult education classroom space. Additionally, in this Phase, we will update existing children’s classrooms and nursery. Heat and air conditioning, lighting, and security systems will also be updated in Phase 1.
Phase 2: Renovation and expansion of ministry and support staff office and meeting space is greatly needed to provide for the needs of the church and community for pastoral care, family ministry, worship planning, outreach, administration, hospitality, and reception for guests and congregants, including a new main entrance and gathering area.
Why do we need to expand our campus?
While our beautiful sanctuary still meets our needs on Sunday, we have reached our limits in space for Sunday school classes for all ages. During the week, we use almost every classroom for church and community activities and events. We are already exceeding capacity in some areas – especially next generation areas. If we desire to continue impacting families and the next generation, we must make more space for them.
Why do we need to do this now?
Now is the time to expand if we want to be sure of having adequate space not only for the future, but even for today. Our kids, students, and adult spaces simply are not adequate for the mission and ministry ahead. We need to expand large group gathering areas, nursery, classroom spaces, and middle and high school areas.
How much will Phase 1 cost?
The current estimates for this expansion are $3 million. This includes architectural fees, all building costs for construction, and renovations.
How will we pay for this?
We will pay for this expansion through “The Immeasurably More Campaign.” This is a three-year financial stewardship campaign to raise the funds for the project. Our goal is to raise $5 million to accomplish the two phases.
Is this goal attainable?
Absolutely! If the entire CFMC community participates in this vision for our future by giving sacrificially, we believe we can realize this goal/vision -- or even surpass it!
Do we currently have debt?
No, CFMC has no debt. By the grace of God through the leadership and giving by our congregants, we were able to completely pay off our prior loan several years ago.
When would the construction of Phase 1 happen?
The earliest we could begin would be in the Fall of 2025. It may take longer to begin construction. Our architect estimates a twelve-to-fourteen-month construction period for Phase 1. It is possible that we could occupy the new/renovated buildings near the end of 2027.
How do I give to "The Immeasurably More Campaign"?
Beginning on Sunday, April 27, we are launching an Immeasurably More four-week sermon series in worship. On May 18 we will be inviting everyone to prayerfully consider the sacrificial gift you will make to this vision by filling out a “Commitment Card” to make financial contributions over a three-year period [June 2025 and ending June 2028.] June 15, 2025, will be our “First Gifts” offering. Some may choose to give one lump sum gift, or to give monthly, quarterly, etc. Other non-cash gifts may also be given in the form of stocks, property, etc. Immeasurably More offering envelopes, as well as other means, will be made available for contributions (online, electronic bank draft, drop box).
Is giving to "The Immeasurably More Campaign" in addition to my normal regular giving?
Yes. CFMC has a general operating budget required to maintain and run current ministries. Giving to “The Immeasurably More Campaign” should be in addition to regular giving/tithing.
