Baptism Sunday

Baptism is a gift of grace. It is God’s promise to us before it is ever our promise to God.
On Sunday, April 12, Canton First Methodist Church will celebrate Baptism Sunday - a holy moment in the life of our church as we remember who we are and whose we are.
On this day, we will invite:
- Parents to bring their children for baptism.
- Youth and adults to be baptized for the first time.
- Those already baptized to reaffirm their baptism and rededicate their lives to Christ.
In addition, the entire congregation will be invited to Remember Your Baptism, renewing our shared identity as people marked by God’s grace and called to live as disciples of Jesus.
If you or your family are interested in baptism, reaffirmation, or presenting a child for baptism, we ask that you attend a “Meaning of Baptism” class on Sunday, March 22 @ 12:30pm in the chapel or Wednesday, March 25 @ 6pm in the chapel. This class will explore the biblical and theological meaning of baptism in the Methodist tradition and help you prepare for this sacred moment with intention and faith.
Baptism marks the beginning of a lifelong journey of following Jesus - abiding in Him, becoming like Him, and doing the things He is doing in the world.
If you sense God’s invitation stirring in your heart, we invite you to take this next step.
Come and remember the waters that have shaped us. Come and celebrate the grace that still calls us by name.
* There will be no Kid's Connect or youth Sunday school. Nursery will be available.
