Life is better together!
At Canton First Methodist we understand the importance of having a diverse Christian community and sharing intentional time with others in the same season of life. As we come together, we can share in the unique blessings and challenges that unite us. The purpose of our adult ministry is to support opportunities to gather for Christian fellowship and spiritual formation.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Adults with Disabilities

At Canton First Methodist, we are committed to creating opportunities for everyone to experience a hope-filled life in Jesus Christ. As part of this mission, we intentionally partner with individuals with disabilities and their families to support meaningful, inclusive participation.
We have a team of trained volunteers who are passionate, equipped, and gifted to serve the unique needs of adults with disabilities. Our goal is to connect these dedicated volunteers with adults who need additional support, ensuring they can fully engage in and enjoy our ministry programs.
Currently, we offer two ministries specifically designed for adults with disabilities:
Elevate is a spiritual growth group that meets every Sunday at 11:00am and Wednesday at 4:30pm. This group focuses on fellowship, worship, and short Bible lessons for adults with disabilities ages 18 and up.
Night to Shine is an annual event hosted in partnership with the Tim Tebow Foundation. Night to Shine is a prom experience for people with disabilities ages 14 and up, where we seek to share the love of Jesus through a joyful evening of celebration, fun, and fellowship, and where every honored guest is crowned King or Queen of the prom.
If you have a family member who may benefit from special assistance during Sunday mornings or other church activities, we would love to support your family. Please reach out to our Discipleship & Family Ministry Pastor, Matt Abel. He would be glad to learn more about your family’s specific needs and discuss how we can best provide care and support.
