Special Needs

A Place Where Everyone Belongs!

At Canton First Methodist, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience a hope-filled life in Jesus Christ. We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where individuals with disabilities and their families can fully participate in worship, discipleship, fellowship, and service.

We recognize that every person is uniquely created in the image of God and brings valuable gifts to the life of the church. Our goal is to foster a culture of belonging—one where all people are supported, encouraged, and empowered to grow in their faith and use their God-given abilities.

We are honored to partner with families, remove barriers to participation, and ensure that everyone knows they are loved, valued, and an important part of the Canton First Methodist family. No matter your journey, there is a place for you here.

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139:14

Kids & Youth with Disabilities

We have a team of trained volunteers who are passionate, equipped, and gifted to serve the unique needs of children and youth with disabilities. Our goal is to connect these dedicated volunteers with kids and students who need additional support, ensuring they can fully engage in and enjoy our ministry programs.

If you have a child or student who may benefit from special assistance during Sunday mornings or other church activities, we would love to support your family. Please reach out to our Children’s Pastor, Elaine Daniel, or our Discipleship & Family Ministry Pastor, Matt Abel. They would be happy to learn more about your family’s specific needs and discuss how we can best provide care and support.

Adults with Disabilities

We have a team of trained volunteers who are passionate, equipped, and gifted to serve the unique needs of adults with disabilities. Our goal is to connect these dedicated volunteers with adults who need additional support, ensuring they can fully engage in and enjoy our ministry programs.

We offer two ministries specifically designed for adults with disabilities:
Elevate is a spiritual growth group that meets every Sunday at 11:00am and Wednesday at 4:30pm. This group focuses on fellowship, worship, and short Bible lessons for adults with disabilities ages 18 and up.
Night to Shine is an annual event hosted in partnership with the Tim Tebow Foundation. Night to Shine is a prom experience for people with disabilities ages 14 and up, where we seek to share the love of Jesus through a joyful evening of celebration, fun, and fellowship, and where every honored guest is crowned King or Queen of the prom.
