Relationships are not just important, they are essential.

Christian Formation is the process through which we are formed to be like Jesus Christ. At Canton First Methodist, we believe that one of the most essential components of Christian Formation is Intentional Community.

Community: a gathering of people with something in common.
Intentional: on purpose.

Have you ever been in a worship service and wished you could get to know the people in the room more deeply? Intentional community makes church small by creating opportunities to engage with other Christians, no matter where we are in our walk with Christ, so that we can develop relationships to support us, nurture us, and challenge us along our journey.

Spiritual Growth Groups

Spiritual Growth Groups are groups of people who are seeking to grow deeper in faith and relationship with Christ and in fellowship with other Christians. Some of these groups meet at the church while others may meet in houses or other locations in the community. There is not a universal approach to the material these groups use for their meetings. Some prefer using our sermon discussion guide and others use book or video-based studies. Whatever the approach, these groups offer a great opportunity to connect with other Christians throughout the week for fellowship and spiritual growth!
