On the night before the cross, Jesus prayed not only for the disciples who were with him, but also for all who would one day believe in him. Jesus prayed for us. And throughout his prayer, Jesus repeatedly reveals his hopes and purposes for his Church. In this five-week series, we will listen to Jesus’ prayer from John 17 and ask what it would look like for us to actually live into it—to become a people who know God, glorify him, remain faithful, are formed by his truth, sent into the world, united in love, and filled with the presence of Christ. We don’t simply want to understand Jesus’ prayer. We want to become the answer to it. What if WE became the Church Jesus prayed we would be?
